Brumbies fall in Auckland

The Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies have fallen to the Blues 46-7 at Eden Park in Round 9 of the Super Rugby Pacific competition.

The home side found themselves down a player inside the opening minutes when Taufa Funaki was yellow-carded for being offside when Brumbies winger Ollie Sapsford was close to scoring the first points of the night.

Though it was the Blues' No.8 Hoskins Sotutu who would touch down first, scoring against the run of play to go up 7-0.

The Blues continued their dominance in possession and territory, winger Caleb Clarke grabbing another try for the Auckland-based side.

The home side were not done with the half, Sotutu scoring his second of the night to take to the sheds 24-0 at halftime.

After the resumption of the second half, Blues' forward Dalton Papali'i would continue the Blues onslaught, scoring within minutes of the restart.

The Blues proving too strong at home, with further tries to front-rowers Ricky Riccitelli and Taufa Funaki to take down the Brumbies 46-7 on Saturday evening at Eden Park.
