The Callida Consulting John I Dent Cup is back for round eight, with Tuggeranong Vikings leading the competition after the bye.

Tuggeranong Vikings vs Uni-Norths Owls

The Bob Hitchcock Territory Shield is up for grabs in this top of the table clash between the Tuggeranong Vikings and the Uni-Norths Owls.

The visitors came closest to taking the shield off Tuggies back in round three, Vikings having held the honour since 2019.

Both sides have been humming recently, Vikings coming off a convincing victory away to Wests while the Owls were comfortable in victory last time out at home against Queanbeyan.

Gungahlin Eagles vs Queanbeyan Whites

The Gungahlin Eagles enter round eight in their best form of the season so far, and though they have been consistent, Queanbeyan are also starting to hit their straps.

Gungahlin, despite being down to 13 players at one stage, were too good for Royals last time out while Queanbeyan just couldn’t last away to the Owls.

Eagles will be bolstered by Brumbies, Tom Ross and Issak Fines-Leleiwasa and will be hoping to make it three on the bounce for the first time this season.

Western District Lions vs Canberra Royals

Wests are sliding but expect a new and improved Lions outfit as they take on Royals today at the feeding ground.

The return of Harry Lloyd and Luke Reimer from Brumbies duties, added to Reesjan Pasitoa and Lachie Albert may tell the tale against a Royals side who crucially, do have Rory Scott and Archer Holz in their ranks this week.

Royals are yet to register a win in 2021, their title defence being deflated by injuries. Today would be a great day for them to launch an attack on the top-four.

Tuggeranong Vikings vs Uni-Norths Owls

The league-leading Uni-Norths Owls will look to reinforce their advantage at the top of the table away to the Tuggeranong Vikings today, with the Owls having plenty of representation in the Brumbies Super W side.

Goulburn vs Queanbeyan Whites

Goulburn will look to keep the pace with the Owls taking on Queanbeyan. With Royals on a bye, it’s a great chance for the Dirty Reds to leap into second place.
