The Brumbies have almost made it through their first week of preseason training having been put through their paces by the club’s Athletic Performance Department.
Two of the team’s newest faces, Joe Tomane and Tevita Kuridrani will be in the hunt for a starting spot in the outside backs once the 2012 season kicks off.
Both players have displayed extraordinary skills over the last two years, Tomane in the NRL and Kuridrani with the Australian Sevens and Queensland Reds Academy.
Head Coach Jake White said he was happy with the skill and enthusiasm shown by both players ahead of the 2012 Super Rugby season.
“Both these players have settled into the group and I’m happy with their progress at this stage,” White said.
“For Joe, he is going to have to work hard to transfer the skills he learned in rugby league to rugby union. He is an outstanding talent and we look forward to seeing his development as a rugby player over the next six months.
“Tevita is a big, strong ball player with a quality rugby mind. He performed well for the Australian Sevens last year and he will be one of the players I consider when I pick my backline.”
Tomane and Kuridrani are just two of 12 new players the Brumbies have welcomed to the fulltime squad for 2012.
