ACT Women finish third at National Championship |
| The ACT has taken third place at the National Women’s Championship after defeating Western Australia 17-7 in their third/fourth play-off at Tallebadgera Active Recreation Centre on the Gold Coast today.
The ACT led 10-0 at the break courtesy of a try to fullback Rachael Fletcher, and conversion and penalty goal to inside centre Ash Hewson.

The ACT Schoolboys have finalised their 23-man squad ahead of next week’s Australian Schools Championships at Sydney’s Knox Grammar.
St Edmund’s College has 14 players selected in the squad while Daramalan College and Erindale College are the other two schools with multiple players included.
The ACT will contest the National Women’s Championship third/fourth play-off after going down to Queensland 29-3 at the Gold Coast’s Tallebadgera Active Recreation Centre this afternoon.
Trailing 7-0 at the break, ACT inside centre Ash Hewson kicked a second half penalty goal for the side’s only points in the five-tries-to-nil defeat.
Six CA Brumbies have been selected in the 30-man Wallabies squad named today to contest the Bundaberg Rum Tri Nations Series.
Stirling Mortlock will again captain the side and has been joined in the squad by Ben Alexander, Adam Ashley-Cooper, Peter Kimlin, Stephen Moore and George Smith, with new recruit Rocky Elsom also selected.
