Rob Valetini is special. The Melbourne-born winger is as physically-gifted as any player to come through the Brumbies ranks and has the game to match.

A 19-year old hailing from Melbourne, Valetini became only the seventh player to sign a Super Rugby contract whilst still in high school, joining the likes of Kurtley Beale, Quade Cooper and James O’Connor in an illustrious club.

A technically sound backrower with a big bruising physique to back up his skills, Valetini is a strong ball carrier and game changing defender who has future Wallaby written all over him.

Unfortunately, he sustained an injury not long into his Brumbies debut in Japan, meaning Brumbies fans had to wait a little longer to see Valetini’s talents.

When he returned against the Rebels, he gave Brumbies fans a glimpse of his superior potential, picking a peach of a line to score his maiden Super Rugby try.

Valetini was struck down with injury again for the remainder of the season, but the seed had already been planted in the minds of Brumbies fans. Valetini continued his recovery with the Canberra Vikings in the NRC and will be burning to get his super Rugby career restarted in earnest in 2019.
