2016 was a breakout year for Brumbies Utility back Nigel Ah Wong.

After playing stints with Sunnybank (QLD), the Melbourne Rebels Development Squad, Queensland Reds Extended Playing Squad and Coca-Cola Red Sparks in Japan Ah Wong has found a home at the Brumbies, earning his first Super Rugby cap in 2015 against the Cheetahs at GIO Stadium and the 26-year old went on to make a further four appearances in 2015.

Following an impressive 2015 National Rugby Championship with the UC Vikings, Ah Wong went on to star for the Brumbies in 2016, making 15 appearances and scoring five tries en-route to an Australian Conference title.

Ah Wong spent the offseason plying his trade in Japan with Suntory Sungoliath and the former flanker will be looking to start 2017 in red hot form.

Ah Wong, who is of both Samoan and Chinese heritage, will be hoping to make a vacant wing spot his own in 2017.
