Born in Johannesburg, Mees Erasmus attended Hoerskool Ben Viljoen in the remote region of Limpopo.

Quickly drafted into the Natal Sharks U21 squad upon finish his schooling, he was identified by then Director of Rugby and former Brumbies coach Jake White, as a player of the future.

White fast-tracked Erasmus into his Vodacom Cup squad, playing the youngster ahead of many seasoned campaigners in the process. Although he was selected as a Hooker, Mees is most comfortable as a Tighthead Prop.

Blessed with a superb work rate and an ability to break tackles, 2016 saw him head to Perth to join the Western Force. Despite an unfortunate shoulder injury, he still managed to make an impression at training and in the local competition with Palmyra.

The prop put in an extremely memorable performance at the World Club Tens during his time with the Force, his barnstorming runs going viral and turning him into an online sensation.

Erasmus adds depth to an already strong core of front rowers at the Brumbies, the 23-year old will push for regular game time with the Super Rugby side in 2018.
