The future is bright for Mack Hansen. Yet to make his Super Rugby bow, 2018 was a season for Hansen to dip his toe in the professional waters

Born and bred in Canberra, Hansen was a schoolboy prodigy for Daramalan College, leading his team to an undefeated regular season and Grand Final berth in 2016.

Hansen was a standout for the ACT Schoolboys at the National Championships in the same year, leading the side throughout the tournament from the flyhalf position as they punched above their weight against more fancied opposition. The 19-year old would go on to represent the Australian Schools Barbarians against Tonga, impressing from the fullback position.

Hansen represented the Brumbies in the 2017 Super U20’s competition, playing at fullback alongside current Brumbies Super Rugby players Ryan Lonergan, Darcy Swain and Rob Valetini.

It wasn’t all off-field learning for Hansen in 2018. The fullback/flyhalf had an excellent campaign with the Junior Wallabies in France, showcasing his eye for the try line on several occasions.

Hansen was also in excellent form for his local club the Gungahlin Eagles, driving them to a top four finish in the Griffin Legal John I Dent Cup. The sky is the limit for Hansen, expect sparks to fly when he takes to the field in 2019.
