A bruising no.8 in the mold of former Brumby Ita Vaea, Lolo Fakaosilea enters his second season with the Brumbies looking to stamp his mark on the team.

Dominant with the ball in hand, Fakaosilea brought his powerful frame to the Brumbies in 2017 after two seasons as a part of the Queensland Reds. The 22-year old only managed four appearances for the Queensland side in those two years, injuries holding him back despite showing a huge amount of potential in Brisbane.

Fakaosilea represented Queensland Country in the first three installments of the National Rugby Championship, impressing onlookers with his hard-nosed style of play and penchant for big contact.

The No.8 made eight appearances for the Brumbies in 2017, Fakaosilea impressing Brumbies coaches with his versatility as the former St Patrick’s student started games at all three backrow positions dung the season.

Fakaosilea comes from good bloodlines, his father Seiana played for the Auckland Blues and his uncle is the late great Jonah Lomu.

With several experienced backrowers departing the Brumbies at the conclusion of the 2017 season, Fakaosilea will be looking to establish himself in the starting XV ahead of the 2018 Super Rugby season.
