A pillar of consistency for the Brumbies, James Dargaville enters his fourth year with the side ready to take his game to the next level.

After successful stints at both the Warringah Rats and Sydney University in the Shute Shield, Dargaville rose to national prominence with his performances for the now defunct Sydney Stars in the 2014 National Rugby Championship.

Dargaville made eight appearances for the Stars and scored three tries, impressing Brumbies coach Stephen Larkham enough for him to be offered a contract prior to the 2015 Super Rugby season.

The 25-year old has gone on to make 32 appearances for the Brumbies and scored four tries, the most recent coming in last season’s home Quarter Final against the Hurricanes.

A former Australian U20’s representative, Dargaville has endeared himself to Brumbies fans with his no nonsense style of play, the utility back has drawn comparisons to former Brumby Pat McCabe with his hard running and strong defence.

Dargaville has the ability to play in multiple positions across the backline, his versatility making him extremely useful for the Brumbies. He will be pushing for a consistent starting spot with the Brumbies in 2018.
