Few get to live out the dream of playing for the Wallabies, and at the tail-end of 2017, Blake Enever fulfilled that dream. However, with the Brumbies lock stocks including two smoking Arnolds, and Co-Captain Sam Carter, Enever was forced to wait for time on the park in 2018.

Enever did not pout, instead persisting with his work and when he got the chance to play, he rarely let that starting jersey go. In fact, Enever even added a string to his bow last season, starting two games at blindside flanker when the Brumbies were in backrow strife.

Enever made the move to the Brumbies in late 2014 following a season with Queensland Country in the National Rugby Championship. The towering lock had previously made two appearances in Super Rugby with the Queensland Reds, the first coming in a 2012 clash against the Rebels.

The 26-year old made an immediate impression with the Brumbies when he joined in 2014, showcasing a high work rate and great speed around the park which allows him to make consistent metres with his carrying.

At 26, Enever’s Wallabies days are far from over, and if he continues in 2019 as he did in 2018, that Gold jersey will be in his sights.
