After an impressive 2015 Buildcorp National Rugby Championship season with premiers Brisbane City, 194cm former carpenter Ben Hyne put down his tools and made the move down to Canberra to link with the Brumbies.

Hyne spent the entire 2016 pre-season training with the Brumbies, impressing players and coaches alike with his versatility and skill set.

Hyne appeared off the bench for the Brumbies in their pre-season fixture against the Waratahs in Wagga Wagga, showing he was up to standard at Super Rugby level.

After travelling to South Africa with the team but not making an appearance, Hyne was finally given his first Super Rugby cap in Round 15 against the Reds, starting in the No.8 jersey.

Unfortunately for Hyne his debut match lasted only four minutes after an ankle injury, which also ruled him out for the remainder of the 2016 season.

Hyne has signed for the Brumbies on an EPS contract for 2017 and fans everywhere are excited to see him develop and prosper as a member of the Brumbies.
