Andrew Muirhead announced himself to Super Rugby fans around the world in 2017, the exciting outside back scoring two tries in his first ten minutes of Super Rugby action with the Brumbies.

Muirhead made the move to Canberra at the end of 2016, the 24-year old taking up an opportunity to train with the squad during the pre-season.

Following the conclusion of the pre-season program Muirhead linked up with local club Canberra Royals in the John I Dent Cup where his performances lit the competition on fire and garnered the attention of Brumbies coaches.

The outside back was called into the Brumbies squad for their two-match tour of South Africa and Argentina, he made his Super Rugby debut in the last minute of the Brumbies victory over the Southern Kings. Muirhead would make his second Brumbies appearance against the Jaguares in Buenos Aires, coming off the bench and scoring a quick double to seal a Brumbies victory.

It was just rewards for the journey Muirhead had been on to get to Super Rugby, the Queenslander had performed well for Souths in Queensland Premier Rugby and had a stint with Counties Manukau in the ITM Cup before getting an opportunity with the Brumbies.

After a promising 2017 Muirhead will look for a regular spot with the Brumbies in Super Rugby.
