The Plus500 Brumbies are set to farewell a number of the playing squad following the completion of the Harvey Norman Super Rugby Trans-Tasman competition.

Proud Canberran Tom Cusack has made the decision to explore new options on and off the field after a season where he became a father for the first time to baby Rosie.  Brumby number 194, the Marist College graduate represented the side on 51 occasions and also became the 18th captain of the club when he led the side out in Round Four of Super Rugby AU.

Harry Lloyd and Mack Hansen will also be departing the club, with Hansen heading to Ireland to continue his career.

The Brumbies also confirm the quartet of Issak Fines-Leleiwasa, Bayley Kuenzle, Reesjan Pasitoa and Reece Tapine will also move on from Canberra following the conclusion of the 2021 season.

The Plus500 Brumbies have retained most of the 2021 squad for next year, with 25 players contracted to continue at the club in 2022.

Plus500 Brumbies coach Dan McKellar said: “It's always sad when players leave the squad but that's also the reality of professional sport."

"All of these players have contributed to the success and culture of the club over a number years with Tom in particular having a significant role as a leader within the group.

"There's no doubt they'll all be missed by the organisation and we wish them all the best in their futures, as we have done personally to each of them as a team and organisation last week."

"At the same time, like last year, in challenging circumstances we have managed to retain a really strong component of the current squad moving forward which is exciting for the Brumbies and our supporters and we look forward to setting goals and achieving them in 2022."
