The Plus500 Brumbies are excited announce the appointment of Canberra businessperson Mr. Doug Stuart to the club’s Board of Directors.
Mr. Stuart, who has deep roots in ACT rugby having represented both Wests and Royals in local premier rugby, as well as the Canberra Kookaburras and the Brumbies Runners, has almost 30 years of experience in the cyber security, cloud computing and critical infrastructure industries.
Mr. Stuart is a co-founder and currently the Chief Operating Officer at Instaclustr, a leading Australian high-tech company providing global data management solutions and is also currently a member of the Canberra Innovation Network Advisory Committee and an active investor in a number of Australian technology start-ups.
Prior to Instaclustr, Mr. Stuart was a co-founder of Stratsec, a cyber security consulting, testing and research firm, which was acquired by BAE Systems in 2011. Stratsec was awarded Telstra Business of the Year in 2010.
Doug has also been recognised as a leading entrepreneur in the industry through the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Program in 2010.
Mr. Stuart has been a strategic advisor and consultant to Australian and international government agencies developing information security programmes and related cybersecurity initiatives and has delivered major cyber capability initiatives for the Defence and national security sector on cyber strategy, identity and access management, business continuity and national information assurance strategies.
