You can own your own racehorse! The Plus500 Brumbies have a unique opportunity for you to bid on, and possibly win, your own racehorse at this years World in Union lunch to be held this Friday 30 August.
The prize up for grabs is the 100% ownership of a thoroughbred racehorse, and this is no ordinary racehorse either, as it comes from distinguished stock.
The horse, up for auction, was sired by Equiano, who is a French-bred thoroughbred and a specialist sprinter. Equiano began his racing career in Spain where he won two races as a two-year-old in 2007 and, in only his second season of racing in France, won the Listed Prix des Sorbiers before being sent to England where he recorded an upset victory in the Group One King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot.
As a five-year-old in 2010 he won the Abernant Stakes and the Palace House Stakes before winning the King's Stand Stakes for a second time. So, as we can see, this horse comes from a thoroughbred line.
The horse is already stabled at Nick Olive’s stable here in Canberra, is ready to commence his racing career, and horse will be raced in conjunction with non-financial support from ‘The Lord’, Laurie Fisher, and Brumbies winger Andy Muirhead, who will attend occasional race meetings with the winner.
There are no gains received by Laurie or Andy.
The successful bidder will have 100% ownership of the horse, plus two months stable fees if successful at the auction.
The horse will be a part of a live auction at the Plus500 Brumbies fundraiser and will be available to bid on via Allbids.
