The Plus500 Brumbies are aiming for a fifth home win in succession when the Sunwolves arrive at GIO Stadium for their Round 13 Super Rugby clash on Mother’s Day this Sunday afternoon.

Having defeated the Chiefs, Waratahs, Lions and Blues in their last four outings in Canberra, the Brumbies are right back in the Australian Conference reckoning as the season heads into the last six rounds.

Having worked his way through the ranks at the Brumbies, Darcy Swain gets another chance to impress in the run on side against the Sunwolves.

His long term future secured at the Brumbies, Swain has shown signs of real growth this year, both in his game and his physical stature.

You could always tell Swain would be a Super Rugby player, but with more beef on his tall frame now as he matures, Swain is starting to look like a player who could compete for higher honours someday.

One thing is for sure, with Rory Arnold and Sam Carter moving on at the end of 2019, Swain will have a big part to play in the future, as well as in the present in this crucial Conference derby.

Head To Head

Matchday Lowdown

The Plus500 Brumbies will wear a specially designed Mother’s Day Game jersey when they take to the field against the Sunwolves.

The fixture against the Japanese franchise, which will be preceded by a mouth-watering clash between the Brumby Runners and the Japan A Wolf pack, the pseudo-national Japanese side, takes place on Mother’s Day, Sunday afternoon with gates opening at 11:45am.

To mark the occasion the Brumbies have released a specially-designed jersey supplied by kit manufacturer O’Neills, with the artwork inspired by the Brumbies playing group. Each jersey will be individually printed with the name of the selected player’s mother on the back, creating a lasting souvenir of the occasion for the player to present to his mother at the full-time whistle.

The jersey, in the traditional Brumbies white but with pink replacing the usual Gold, is decorated with a sprinkling of floral print creating a visually distinctive pattern that is unique to the kit.Limited numbers of the Official Mother’s Day Jersey will be available for purchase from retail outlets at the Stadium on game day only until stocks last.

There will be no online sales for this jersey.
