Brumbies Women in Sport Lunch Success

The Plus500 Brumbies held their 2018 Women in Sport Luncheon as part of the Brumbies in Business series of events last Friday afternoon.

90 guests enjoyed a tremendous event hosted at the magnificent Lotus Room in the Casino Canberra, in association with Aquis, where Brumbies Director Anne-Marie Perrett took charge of proceedings.

Three-time Olympic Gold Medallist Kim Brennan was the keynote speaker and regaled the audience with her experiences whilst prominent lawyer Bronwyn Fagan hosted the panel interview segment of the event.

That panel featured Brumbies Women’s Super W player and Wallaroos international Georgia O’Neill and Assistant Coach of the UC Capitals, Bec Goddard, herself no stranger to success having been an AFLW Premiership winning coach.

“It was fantastic to see so many people come along to the Women in Sport Luncheon, a key part of our Brumbies in Business series of events,” Plus500 Brumbies CEO Phil Thomson commented.

“We would like to extend our thanks to Aquis for the use of their venue at Casino Canberra, the Lotus Room providing a fitting backdrop for the Luncheon.

“The event was well organised and I’d like to pass on our sincere thanks to Anne-Marie Perrett, Bronwyn Fagan, Kim Brennan, Georgia O’Neill and Bec Goddard for providing an entertaining and enlightening afternoon for all present.”

A raffle was held on the day with a percentage of the proceeds being donated to our Charity partner Lifeline Canberra.

This unique networking event is the first in a series scheduled by Brumbies in Business in which the Canberra corporate community can listen to some inspiring stories in a wonderful setting as our panellists discuss leadership and elite pathways in sport and business.
