ACT Vets annual charity match set for May 18th

The ACT Veterans Rugby Club is playing its annual charity match against the Australian Command and Staff College (ACSC) Rugby Club on Friday 18th May at Kapyong Oval, Hopkins Rd, Royal Military College Duntroon. Kick off will be at 6pm with the game being played under lights for the first time.

The match is once again being played for the Chief’s Cup, which has a 13 year history of support by the Chief of the Defence Force (CDF), originating with the then CDF, and the ACT Veterans’ current Patron-in-Chief, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd).

The ACSC Rugby Club are excited to maintain the strong relationship with the ACT Veterans Rugby Club noting the links that the ACT Veterans Rugby Club has with the broad Veteran community and charities. This fixture is an annual opportunity to continue the relationship and friendly rivalry.

Given the certainty that the final score will be a 9 all draw (a core rule of Veterans Rugby), the game is sure to be played in the right spirit and be enjoyed by all involved, both on and off the field.

This year’s match is sponsored once again by Reuse-Recycle IT which is a division of Capital Easy Finance. Reuse-Recycle IT is an Australian, Canberra based, company specialising in the facilitation and logistics management of recycling and reusing end-of-life IT and office equipment.

Thanks to the generosity of Reuse-Recycle IT, a donation of $1,250 will be made to the Canberra Hospital Foundation.
