The ACT will contest the National Women’s Championship third/fourth play-off after going down to Queensland 29-3 at the Gold Coast’s Tallebadgera Active Recreation Centre this afternoon.

Trailing 7-0 at the break, ACT inside centre Ash Hewson kicked a second half penalty goal for the side’s only points in the five-tries-to-nil defeat.

Lock Erin Caldwell was a standout performer in a losing side, tackling herself to a standstill and showing supreme fitness through to the final siren.

The ACT will play Western Australia in the play-off for third place tomorrow at 11.15am.
