ARU Insurance

In relation to liability, when considering rugby activity liabilities, for sports and other injuries, the Australian Rugby Union Limited and its members and affiliate members, including member clubs and associations of the various State members are covered by the ARU SPORTS INJURY and LIABILITY INSURANCE SCHEME.  That means all Club players, coaches, trainers, managers, administrators, voluntary workers, selectors, touch judges, ball boys, medical officers, physiotherapists; and all Club directors, officers, employees, executive officers, office bearers, members and committees of the (insured) Rosary JRU Club are covered. The only proviso is that all the above must be registered on MyRugbyAdmin and all teams must pay the annual team levy.  Please refer to the CLUB ADMINISTRATORS SPORTS INSURANCE MANUAL.

The ARU SPORTS INJURY and LIABILITY INSURANCE SCHEME provides a basic level of insurance for players, members and officials associated with club rugby. All clubs affiliated with the ARU and/or the various State Unions and their affiliated unions are automatically covered under the plan from March 1, for a period of 12 months.

An INSURANCE LEVY is payable by all clubs based on number of teams playing within the ARU sanctioned competition and each club will be sent copies of the ARU INSURANCE BROCHURE annually.

All participants (Players, Coaches and Officials) must be registered with the ARU in order to obtain coverage. Please note that it is the club's responsibility to ensure the original ARU membership forms are stored for ten (10) years.

The level of benefits provided through this plan are not 'comprehensive' for all persons, and as such the ARU encourage all players and officials to take out Private Health Insurance and 'Top Up' coverage over and above the coverage provided by this insurance. Gow-Gates Insurance Brokers can assist in providing advice in regard to 'Top Up' covers and other insurance requirements.
The CLUB ADMINISTRATORS SPORTS INSURANCE MANUAL is provided at the beginning of each season to all clubs throughout Australia, so each club may have immediate access to the main points of the Insurance Plan. This manual has been prepared to assist you with the Sports Injury and Liability Insurance provided to your club and procedures you should take when making a claim.
