The Navy Canberra Vikings have successfully appealed Francis Fainifo’s one-match suspension, leaving the winger available to take his place against the Western Sydney Rams at Parramatta Stadium on Saturday night. Fainifo was cited for a dangerous tackle on Rays inside centre Sam Harris in the 18th minute of Sunday’s match against the Central Coast Rays. The 23 year old was originally called to front of judiciary by the citing commissioner. Fainifo said he was delighted to be available to take the field for the Navy Canberra Vikings’ clash with the Rams on Saturday night. “I’m very happy with the outcome of the appeal,” he said. “I’m pleased that we can move on and I can now focus on tackling the Rams on Saturday night.” Fainifo will resume his place in the Navy Canberra Vikings’ starting line-up replacing brother Solomona, who drops out of the 22-man squad. The Navy Canberra Vikings will play the Western Sydney Rams at Parramatta Stadium on Saturday night. Kick off is at 7.30pm.
