What is a podcast?

A podcast is an audio file that can be downloaded to your mp3 player or computer.  You can then listen to this audio file at a time that is convenient for you.

What is podcasting?

It's a way for you to automatically recieve weekly instalments of the Brumbies Rugby Podcast to your computer or portable mp3 player. To do this, you subscribe to the podcast by downloading a small piece of software that manages all of your podcast subscriptions. When connected to the internet, the software searches for the latest edition of the program on the ABC website, and will download it to a folder on your computer, ready for when you next plug in your mp3 player. You can also listen to the podcast on your computer if you do not have an mp3 player. This means that you don't have to manually search and download for new programs to download on this website. It happens automatically!

For further information on podcasting try the Wikipedia. You can find a list of podcasting software here.
