The CA Brumbies will join their legion of supporters this evening from 6.30pm at Viking Park for their annual ActewAGL Meet the Players Day. The two-time Super 12 Champions will hold an open training session from 5.00pm before taking time to mix with and sign autographs for their fans from around the ACT & Southern NSW. Brumbies Rugby development staff will also be on hand to run activities for fans to test their skills against their CA Brumbies heroes. Brumbies Rugby CEO Andrew Fagan says the ActewAGL Meet the Players Day is an important one on the team calendar. “Our members are such an integral part of the Brumbies,” he said. “They are the lifeblood of our organisation and it’s important that we provide them with the opportunity to meet the players “We’re very appreciative for the support that ActewAGL provides for this event – they’re a great supporter of sport at all levels in our community.” CA Brumbies captain Stirling Mortlock says the event is a great chance for players to thank fans for their support. “We pride ourselves on our excellent record at Canberra Stadium and our supporters have been a key ingredient in that success,” he said. “We love playing in front big crowds and the home ground advantage is something we all cherish and enjoy. “We recognise the difference their support makes to the way we play and this is a great opportunity for us to show our appreciation.” ActewAGL CEO John Mackay says he’s pleased to bring the Meet the Players Day, now in its third year, to CA Brumbies fans. “The Brumbies are great ambassadors in our community,” he said. “We’ve cultured an excellent rapport with the Brumbies and their supporters and we’ll continue to support them into the future. “We are delighted to again be involved with this great community event.” The CA Brumbies will commence training at 5.00pm with autographs and photo opportunities available from 6.30pm. A group photo will be published on the Brumbies Rugby & ActewAGL websites and available to download.
