Adam Wallace-Harrison has been a reliable and versatile member of the CA Brumbies pack for the past three years. The 28 year old, who has not missed an Investec Super 14 match for the CA Brumbies in the past two seasons, will again be a valuable option in the CA Brumbies’ lineout and mobile member around the field during 2008. Wallace-Harrison started in 11 of the CA Brumbies’ 13 matches in 2007, scoring tries against the Hurricanes in Wellington and the Sharks in Durban. The two-metre, 112-kilogram utility forward played at lock and blindside flanker during the Investec Super 14 before being selected as a second rower for Australia A for three matches in the Pacific Nations Cup. On completing his national duties, that included a try in Australia A’s 27-15 win over Samoa in Coffs Harbour, Wallace-Harrison returned to his club side, Eastern Suburbs, to help them to their grand final appearance against Sydney University. He completed his year as a senior member and key player for the Navy Canberra Vikings squad in the Mazda Australian Rugby Championship. Born in Perth, Wallace-Harrison grew up playing rugby and Australian Rules and attended Wesley College, where he was selected for the West Australian Schools rugby team before going on to represent WA at Under 19 and Under 21 level. In 2000 he moved to Queensland to study Commerce at Griffith University before he was selected for the Queensland Under 21’s and was inducted into the Reds Rugby College in 2002. Wallace-Harrison was awarded a full-time contract with the Reds in 2003 but, after limited opportunities, sought a fresh start with the CA Brumbies in 2005. The lofty lock made his provincial debut in his first year with the CA Brumbies when he came off the bench against the Sharks in Durban. Having made an impression in his first season, Wallace-Harrison was called up to the 2005 Wallaby Spring Tour where he earned a start against the French Barbarians, having already represented the side against the Junior All Blacks earlier in the year. A knee injury suffered while playing for Easts ended his chances of back-to-back Spring Tours in 2006.
