Josh Mann-Rea returned to Australian rugby with the NSW Waratahs in 2012 following three productive years in the Japanese top league with Kyuden Voltex in Fukuoka.
A strong, bullocking ball-runner, Mann-Rea adds experience to the Brumbies squad having been on the professional circuit for well over a decade.
One of three hookers on the University of Canberra Brumbies books for the 2013 Super Rugby season, Mann-Rea will look to make an impact once he returns from a knee injury suffered during pre-season.
With several years in the Waratahs Academy under his belt, Mann-Rea has previously played with a host of current Brumbies, including Dan Palmer and Scott Fardy.
A knee injury to Waratahs hooker, Damien Fitzpatrick in 2012 provided a break for Mann-Rea to return to Australian rugby. He signed a short term deal and earned a spot in the Tahs' South African touring party, eventually making his long-awaited Super Rugby debut against the Stormers in Cape Town.
Educated in Queensland at Nudgee College, Mann-Rea has previously represented Australia at Under 19's, Under 21's and Schoolboys.
