Coleman is an attacking inside back with excellent speed and vision, and the ability to defend well above his weight in the defensive line. While relatively small in stature, Coleman showed in 2011 that he is a player with a big future. A former nominee for the IRB Junior Player of the Year - an award won by New Zealand's Julian Savea - Coleman had the entire competition talking after scoring a scorching try around Tana Umaga in Week One at Canberra Stadium. Coleman went on the bag another try while on tour in Bloemfontein and provided plenty of spark from the bench for the Brumbies.
