Jarrad Butler moves to Canberra with the vision of claiming a regular spot in the UC Brumbies match-day 22. Having cut his teeth with the Queensland Reds over the last two seasons, Butler is now focussed on becoming a full-timer in the Super Rugby competition. Born in Wellington, New Zealand, Butler moved to Queensland and Australia at the age of 13 and has flourished in his adopted country. As a junior, Butler was part of the talent-heavy, 2007 The Southport School 1st XV which also featured players like Jono Lance, James Slipper, Luke Morahan and Mark Swanepoel. From the there he was picked for the Australian Schools side, the Australian Under 20’s and most recently, the Combine NSW QLD Country team which took on the British and Irish Lions in Newcastle. Having climbed his way through the ranks at the Reds from Academy to Super Rugby, Butler is set for a big first season in Canberra as a regular in the UC Brumbies top squad.
