A likeable chap with a calming disposition, Jordan Smiler is a welcome addition to the University of Canberra Brumbies fulltime squad after earning a promotion from the 2013 EPS group.
As an extra option for the UC Brumbies at the line-out, Smiler adds height and athleticism while his ability around the park is also a bonus when the team is on the attack.
Formerly known as a sevens star who went within a whisker of representing New Zealand, Smiler ended up on the UC Brumbies roster after switching allegiances to Australia where he was eventually picked up by Scott Fava for the Northern Suburbs side in Sydney.
Smiler joined the squad in a train-on capacity in 2012 before migrating through the ranks to hold one of 30 fulltime contracts in Canberra. He made his run-on and Super Rugby debut in 2013 against the Highlanders under the roof at Dunedin and will be looking to add to his total of four caps in 2014.
A new dad as of Christmas 2013, Smiler has settled into life in Canberra with his wife and is now looking to do the same in the UC Brumbies match-day 23.
