Mountains of experience, a comprehensive skill set and an unwavering ability to lead a team by example all combine to make Stephen Moore Australia’s finest hooker and one of the world’s most distinguished players.
Put simply, Moore characterises what professional rugby coaches are looking for. His preparation and application to training and playing are second-to-none and as a result the University of Canberra Brumbies front row has become a nursery for Wallaby front rowers who are following his example.
With the 2013 Spring Tour under his belt, Moore rests on the cusp of 100 Tests for the Wallabies, a remarkable feat considering he has held the mantle of most-capped Australian hooker for almost two years.
Having moved to Canberra from the Reds in 2009, Moore’s 118 games’ experience guided the UC Brumbies through times of change between 2011 and 2013.
A competitor who rarely makes mistakes, Moore has played on some of rugby’s biggest stages including World Cup play-offs and a Super Rugby Final.
