ACT Schools pipped by QLD I

The ACT Schoolboys have gone down 35-19 to Queensland I in their opening match at the National Championships in Sydney on Monday.

Down 21-7 at halftime thanks to a late try from Queensland, the young Brumbies fought their way back into the match but couldn’t equal their northern opponents.

Tries to Jason Tomane, Tyrel Lomax and Tom Evans highlighted the match for the ACT-based players, with Evans and Harry Tyson also adding extras off the boot.

The ACT Schoolboys will now prepare for their next two matches of the tournament, against NSW II on Wednesday before facing Victoria on Thursday.

The series finals will conclude on Saturday afternoon.
