Last Wednesday 48 representatives from University of Canberra Brumbies Sponsors made their way to Brumbies HQ to kick off the 2013 Season with Sponsors Workshop.
The day was a mix of information sharing reviewing 2012 and discussing marketing and development plans for 2013 presented by the commercial Team. The Team also played their part in the day with a presentation by Team Director Tony Thorpe before sponsors the opportunity to enjoy a BBQ lunch in the team canteen.
With the formalities over the afternoon was an opportunity for sponsors to take to the field with a skills session run by Stephen Larkham and Laurie Fisher assisted by eight players, the session was an opportunity for participants to learn a few ball handling drills and a quick game of touch rugby…under the watchful eye of the players who even dished out some push-ups for punishment for the losing side!
This was quickly followed by kicking drills and coaching before guests put into action all they learnt with a goal kicking competition.
It was a great day enjoyed by all who attended and took part and a fantastic way to kick off the 2013 season.
