Musashi Match of the Round:
Queanbeyan (5) v Royals (6), Campese Field, Queanbeyan
First Grade: 3.05pm, Reserve Grade: 1.40pm, Colts: 12.15pm

Queanbeyan suffered a disappointing loss to Tuggeranong on Saturday 51-22; however they did illustrate a great sign of progress in gaining a four try bonus point for their efforts. In what is shaping up to be a hard fought match this Saturday, Queanbeyan will be confident they can score points, but will need to tighten up their defence after letting in nine tries. Sitting one point clear of Royals on the ladder, a win this weekend could possible put Queanbeyan in the top four.

Royals secured a tough bonus point win on Saturday, beating Uni-Norths 33-19 at Phillip. In a match that could have gone either way, Royals were able to score some quick points through dominate phase play which put the result beyond doubt. The inclusion of Brumbies contracted players Sam Carter, Siliva Siliva and Kimami Sitauti will bring a boost to the team in what it expected to be very physical and tough encounter against Queanbeyan.

Uni-Norths (4) v West (2), ANU North Oval, Turner
First Grade: 3.05pm, Reserve Grade: 1.40pm, Colts: 12.15pm

For Uni-Norths another tough and disappointing loss away to Royals on Saturday has seen them slump to five losses in a row. In what was a very physical game at the break down, the Owls showed some promising attack and go forward but were unable to capitalise on scoring opportunities. However times of ill discipline constantly put the Owls on the back foot and under defensive pressure.
This Saturday’s game Uni-Norths will have Brumbies contracted players Dylan Sigg and Tom Cox returning to the team in a must win match against Wests. Sigg will be playing in the number 8 position, while Cox will be starting at outside centre. Uni-Norths will be hoping the experience both Cox and Sigg gained from taking on the Welsh team will be displayed against a strong Wests outfit.

West are coming off a nail bitting 1 point win over the Eagles last Saturday in front of a huge home crowd, in what was a fitting result to Wests 50th anniversary. The win see’s Wests in outright second, four points clear of Gungahlin who have the bye this weekend. West will have a very strong team this weekend with the inclusion Brumbies contracted players Peter Kimlin, Jesse Mogg and  Fotu Auelua, with Auelua being named in the unfamiliar position of inside centre. In form fullback Mal Barnes has been moved to the wing with the return of Mogg, while Devillers Hugo comes into the starting halfback position.

Tuggeranong (1) v Easts (7), Viking Park, Erindale
First Grade: 3.05pm, Reserve Grade: 1.40pm, Colts: 12.15pm

Tuggeranong have continued their impressive display with a comprehensive 51-22 win over Queanbeyan. Brendan Taueki and Jerome Nauitmata showed an impressive return, with both backs scoring two tries each. Taking on an improving East, Vikings again will be looking to maintain a strong run of dominate performances in this Saturday fixture. Beau Mokotupu and JP Pradaud will be playing after gaining a taste of international rugby when they played in the Brumbies verse Wales match at Canberra Stadium on Tuesday night.

East this Saturday will be fresh after coming off the bye ready to take on a very imposing Tuggeranong side at Viking Park. Constantly improving, East have Brumbies contracted player Ben Hand coming back into the team at second row to boost their forward pack. Two other changes have been made; Danny Messenger has been named in this week’s side for Chris Cocca and Lincoln Magee coming in at outside centre.
