The Brumbies have ventured to their stomping ground at the University of Canberra for Harmony Day, jumping on the barbecue and spreading some love to the students they represent.
For the next two weeks at Canberra Stadium, the University of Canberra Brumbies will celebrate students with cut price offers on tickets and memberships available.
Prop Jono Owen has been spending his time between a scrum machine and the books, studying business at the University of Southern Queensland. The Big Bear was at UC on Wednesday and with the popularity of his cooking he may be persuaded into a career as a chef.
“It’s good to be down here with all my fellow students, looking for a cheap meal. I’m more than happy to facilitate their hunger and empty pockets,” Owen said.
“The partnership the club has with the Uni is great on so many levels, we have a chance to mingle with the students and expose the Brumbies brand to a whole new audience.
“There has been a fair bit of interest around the barbecue and it’s not just my cooking, plenty of people have said they are coming along on Saturday which will be good.”
The University of Canberra Brumbies face the Highlanders at Canberra Stadium on Saturday night, then the Sharks next weekend.
Student tickets are just $5, or they can grab a ‘6 Pack’ and see all the remaining home games for $20.
These are unbeatable deals, so contact the Brumbies Rugby ticketing hotline on 1300 733 899 or visit brumbies.com.au/Membership/PackageOverview.aspx.
