The festive season is well underway with the Brumbies holding their ‘Foundies’ Christmas party at the clubhouse last night. The evening gave the Brumbies a chance to say thank you to the foundation members and also give this group a chance to meet the new faces in the squad for the 2012 season.
All new members of the Brumbies squad attended the night; along with Wallaby representative Pat McCabe making an appearance at the evening.
More than 70 ‘Foundies’ helped celebrate the Christmas season with the importance of their continued support being recognised at the event. With each table having at least one Brumbies player, it was a good opportunity for both the foundation members and the new players to get to know one another.
New recruit Ben Mowen, who joined the Brumbies from the Waratahs, enjoyed the opportunity to mix with some of the club’s most loyal supporters.
“All the guys really enjoyed the night and it was great to see such a big turn out from the foundation members,” Mowen said.
“These guys have been great supporters of the club and it’s really important that we keep these fans coming back every year,”
“I know that all of us new boys in the squad are excited to pull on the Brumbies jersey and do it proud.”
The Christmas season spirit is high around the club with a Canberra Hospital giving tree set up in the club house. The tree already has a number of presents beneath it with everyone giving generously to the great cause.
The tree is open for donations from the public so feel free to drop off gifts which will be given to the Hospital next week.
