Shipard sells Movember to Brumbies

Canberra United star Sally Shipard has joined forces with the Brumbies Rugby boys to raise money and awareness for Movember in the ACT.

The Matilda’s talent has tallied more than $3000 for the cause, drawing a moustache on every day for training and games.

Part of the Brumbies United cheer squad joined Shipard on Friday afternoon, with the Welsh Wizard, otherwise known as Athletic Performance Coach Aled Walters, drawing her Mo on with eyeliner.

Walters decided to take the gag one step further, also painting on a pair of glasses for Shipard to wear around for the rest of the day.

“I was worried she may not be able to see her mo in the mirror so I’ve saved her a trip to the optometrist and just drawn them on with pen,” Walters said.

“I’ll be following her around all weekend to make sure they stay on. It would be a terrible shame if she was to have poor eyesight.

“Movember is a great cause and I’m pleased to be involved, even though I’ve been growing my facial hair for at least three months.”

Brumbies players Nic White, Ruaidhri Murphy, Dylan Sigg, Scott Sio, Joe Tomane, Tevita Kuridrani, Ben Alexander, Siliva Siliva and Colby Faingaa have all been growing their Mo’s for Movember with mixed results.
