ACT 16's doing it tough at nationals

The ACT Under 16’s side has been beaten in its first two matches of the national carnival at Riverview this week after facing the NSW Schools and Queensland White teams.

Monday was day one of the competition with the Brumbies being given a tough introduction to the national tournament during a 48-19 point loss.

The Brumbies did manage to score three tries during the encounter, with Jake McCook, Harry Burey and Naude Mynhardt all crossing the line.

Day two of the competition saw a more spirited effort from the Brumbies, who were eventually beaten 22-6 by Queensland White.

The match against Queensland showed a far more committed Brumbies outfit, who managed to defend better and hold their opponents to less that 25 points.

The Brumbies final pool match against Victoria, who sits in a similar position to the Brumbies with no wins from two games, takes place on Thursday at 10.45am.

Queensland Red and Queensland White lead their pools, with Sydney Juniors and NSW Schools close behind.
