Having seen a membership rush late last year leading into the Christmas break, Brumbies Rugby management have been happy to see numbers continue to rise indicating another year of strong support from the ACT community.
While the final target of 9000 members was still a work in progress, Chief Executive Andrew Fagan said the figure his side had already reached was pleasing.
“Without the support of our fans and the ACT community, the CA Technologies Brumbies would not exist,” Fagan said.
“It’s encouraging to see that Brumbies Rugby supporters have stuck by the team and will continue to support us strongly for the 2011 Super Rugby season.
“On behalf on the CA Technologies Brumbies I’d like to thank all our members for staying true in their support and encourage anyone who hasn’t yet signed up for 2011 membership to do so before the season starts.”
Comparatively, the CA Technologies Brumbies have faired better than the majority of Australian Super Rugby provinces in attracting and retaining members.
Fagan put this down to the loyalty of rugby mad people living in the ACT.
“Attracting people to CA Technologies Brumbies memberships has been a pleasure – the people in Canberra are all sports mad and support their local teams with passion and energy,” Fagan said.
“Our close knit community means that the team really belongs to the people and I think that is clearly reflected every year in our strong membership numbers.”
“We are proud to represent the region and look forward to repaying our members faith in 2011.”
