UC Brumbies bid Brum farewell

He’s big, bold and blue and gold!

The UC Brumbies are preparing to farewell their first ever wheels, with Brum up for auction on allbids.com.au.

Before receiving a stunning makeover, Brum was adopted by the UC Brumbies as a tired looking khaki green ex-Army ambulance but now features striking paintwork in ‘Brumbies blue’ with the Brumbies trademark brand and horse design splashed on his sides.

But brilliant looks aren’t all that Brum possesses, he is also fully equipped with sirens and flashing beacons, sounds like a real horse and can even sing the Brumbies song!

Some of Brum’s responsibilities included transporting UC Brumbies players and staff, towing the merchandise van, helping out with game day entertainment and of course, his main duty is to serve as the personal vehicle for Brumby Jack.

UC Brumbies Business Development Manager Luke Matthews said it was a shame to see Brum go.

“Brum has been a big part of the Brumbies off-field presence around the ACT for almost a decade and everyone is sad to see him go.

“It’s a pretty unique vehicle that has become a part of the fabric of our club and he will be a fantastic collector’s item for a die-hard Brumbies supporter.

“Alternatively someone might see fit to reinvigorate Brum with a new personality. I can’t see him going to back to his days as an emergency services vehicle, but the uses for an old ambulance like Brum are almost limitless in terms of business promotion.

“The Brumbies have found fantastic value in Brum and I’m sure his next owner will be just as pleased once he or she turns the ignition on our old, blue mate.”
