Royals set for tour of Ireland

Ahead of their historic tour of Ireland, Royals rugby players have enjoyed dinner and drinks at the Irish Embassy in Canberra on Wednesday hosted by Irish Ambassador, Noel White.

Ambassador White had heard of the Royals tour and was keen to catch up before the group departed for Ireland.

The Royals third game is against Carlow RFC , coincidently Noel’s home town and a club he played his junior rugby with.

The Royals Ireland Rugby Tour has been in planning since November 2012 and players have together raised more than $70,000.

The club has had more than 40 Local businesses lend support along the way, and the club has expressed plenty of thanks for the vast range of community contributions.

On arrival home it is only two weeks until the start of the John I Dent Cup season where the Royals will be hoping to hit the ground running, especially in a shorter season format this year.

ACT rugby supporters can follow the Royals tour of Ireland through their Facebook, and Instagram accounts or by visiting their website, www.royalsrugby.com.au.
