Meet the Players Day is back again in 2014 and the University of Canberra Brumbies are asking supporters young and old to come along and join the celebrations.
In 2013 the UC Brumbies entertained well over 1000 fans and this year the club is hoping for an even greater turn-out.
Locked in for February 9, Meet the Players Day is well regarded as one of the ACT communities’ best opportunities to get up close and personal with the stars of the UC Brumbies.
As usual, the day will double as a chance for junior players to register with one of the ACT’s seven Premier Grade clubs for the 2014 ACT Junior Rugby season.
Jumping Castles, face painting and the Brumby Jack Attack will also keep the crowds entertained into the early afternoon.
Men’s Link will run a sausage sizzle, All Homes will provide Face Painting, Bartercard will service a bucking bull and free flavoured milks will flow thanks to Canberra Milk.
UC Brumbies Chairman Sean Hammond said Meet the Players Day was a good chance for the community to engage with the club and make the most of having a world class rugby team on their doorstep.
“This is one of the most exciting days on the Brumbies calendar and our guys are always happy to be involved,” Hammond said.
“Meet the Players Day has really taken shape over the last four or five years and it’s exciting to think that we will have more than 1000 fans at the University of Canberra to help us welcome in the new season.
“It’s around this time of year that people start thinking about the season ahead and what better way to kick things off than with a day specially focussed on giving the community a firm link to our playing group.”
