Refereeing Overview

Refereeing Overview

The Brumbies Rugby Referees Department work in conjunction with the  ACT Rugby Referees Association (ACTRRA),  Southern Inland Rugby Referees Association (SIRRA)  and South Coast Rugby Referees Association to provide referees for both junior and senior competitions in the ACT, Southern Inland (Wagga Wagga) and South Coast (Batemans Bay) areas.

ACT Referees also have opportunities to advance through the ranks quickly, with some of our referees involved in Super Rgby matches, International matches (both senior and junior) and National Championships.

NEW REFEREES NEEDED!
We are always looking for new referees to officiate at games, from Under 9's through to Seniors. You can referee once or twice a weekend, once a month, or only as a fill-in if you would rather. You can referee games near your home or where you or your family members/friends etc will be playing that day - we are completely flexible around you and your commitments!

If you haven't refereed before, never fear- we have courses to teach you all about refereeing a game of rugby. For those who have played rugby, there is also an opportunity to use Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) to move you up the ranks towards senior refereeing.

If you have previously been a referee, with the ACTRRA or another organisation and would like to take up the whistle again, please get in contact with us. We need as many people as possible to service games in the ACT and its surrounding regions.

We provide kit of a jersey, shorts, socks and red/yellow cards. The ACTRRA also have other items for purchase, such as tracksuits and polo shirts.

Alternatively, if you would like further information, please contact Mark Snow (Brumbies Referee Development Officer) m.snow@brumbies.com.au or Amy Allpress (Rugby Services Administrator) a.allpress@brumbies.com.au
